Staff Site Reliability Engineer

TL;DR

Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE): Ownership of infrastructure performance and reliability for the Fivetran Data Platform, including deployment pipeline robustness and incident response. Focus on monitoring availability/capacity/throughput, evolving reliability across the product roadmap, and preventing operational issues through automation and security-driven vulnerability remediation.

Location: Dublin, Ireland (hybrid; two days in the office each week)

What you will do

• Monitor production infrastructure for availability, capacity, and throughput to ensure ongoing reliability and robustness.
• Improve systems by incorporating reliability into the product roadmap.
• Coordinate prioritization and fixes for critical issues affecting support or sales requirements.
• Partner with engineering to recommend production infrastructure changes and drive toward 100% availability.
• Automate scalable artifact deployments across environments.
• Continuously monitor infrastructure vulnerabilities and remediate them with the security team.

Requirements

• Expertise in managed Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, and GKE).
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and tooling: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud (GCP), Terraform, Buildkite, Pulumi, and ArgoCD.
• Experience with Python and Shell scripting, plus Go; Java is a bonus.
• Experience with Linux operating system internals and administration.
• Experience with cloud networking such as site-to-site VPNs, Azure Private Link, and GCP Private Service Connect.
• Experience using AI tools for code review, automation, incident analysis, documentation, and reducing operational toil.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of experience working with SaaS products at scale.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
