Manager, Manufacturing Science & Technology (Biotech): Leading end-to-end technology transfer and supporting external manufacturing partners for rAAV-based therapies with an accent on process robustness and GMP compliance. Focus on serving as a technical bridge between Process Development, CMC, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless scale-up and sustained excellence.
Location: Fully remote within the US, with a strong preference for candidates on the East Coast (Ohio, Massachusetts, Rhode Island).
Salary: $127,000–$165,500 Annual

What you will do
- Lead and execute end-to-end technology transfer activities from process development through commercial-scale GMP manufacturing.
- Review critical documentation including batch records, SOPs, and GMP protocols.
- Serve as a person-in-plant during production campaigns to provide real-time technical support.
- Perform active process monitoring, data trending, and assist in process improvements.
- Drive timely closure of process deviations and support change control management.
- Contribute to supply chain risk mitigation and assist in process characterization activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in drug substance or drug product operations.
- Solid technical background in upstream cell culture and downstream purification.
- Hands-on experience with GMP manufacturing, process validation, and tech transfer.
- Must be able to work independently and remotely from central leadership.
- Ability to travel globally up to 40% for CDMO site visits.
