What you will do

• Review and accurately code professional services for Plastic Surgery, including E/M visits, office procedures, and surgeries.
• Ensure strict compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer guidelines to maximize reimbursement.
• Maintain daily production goals and consistently achieve a quality accuracy rate of at least 95%.
• Research complex coding scenarios independently and communicate documentation trends to leadership.
• Stay current on specialty-specific coding guidelines and maintain professional certifications.

Requirements

• Active certification from AHIMA or AAPC (e.g., CCS-P, CPC); CPC-A is not accepted.
• Minimum 5 years of physician coding experience in Plastic Surgery, specifically covering breast reconstruction, Mohs, and complex surgical cases.
• Proficient knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, medical terminology, and CMS/MAC billing policies.
• High School diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Windows, and EHR/billing systems.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience coding Nerve transfers, RPNI surgery, or Plastics/Neurosurgery co-surgeries.
• Experience with Epic EHR.
• Background in auditing or billing denials.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace.
