What you will do

• Drive database reliability, including high availability and disaster recovery to meet RPO/RTO targets for core banking systems.
• Architect for scale by defining and executing scalability roadmap (partitioning, sharding, capacity forecasting).
• Optimize performance through query optimization, execution plan analysis, and proactive bottleneck remediation.
• Design infrastructure components such as connection pooling (PgBouncer) and robust backup/restore automation.
• Establish observability by building monitoring/alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, VictoriaMetrics) and defining SLIs/SLOs for database health.
• Partner with engineering on schema changes and architectural decisions to support a high-load environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA in high-load, production environments (preferably fintech or mission-critical systems).
• Advanced PostgreSQL internals and expertise (MVCC, WAL, vacuum) plus index design (B-tree, GIN, GiST, BRIN), partitioning, and vacuum tuning.
• Proven HA/DR experience designing streaming replication, clustering, and automated backup validation.
• Hands-on cloud-managed PostgreSQL experience, specifically GCP, and Linux systems administration.
• Automation and delivery experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD workflows (GitLab, ArgoCD).
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Compliance experience with frameworks like PCI DSS or GDPR.
• Experience with additional data systems (Redis, BigQuery, Cassandra, ClickHouse).
• Security expertise in secrets/credential management.
