What you will do

• Lead technical packages for large tailings and mine waste management projects from pre-feasibility to detailed design.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop integrated tailings solutions, including facility design and slurry distribution studies.
• Perform fieldwork and provide technical construction support for tailings facilities.
• Support clients using the proprietary hirify.global Integrated Tailings Management (HITM) tool and GISTM compliance auditing.
• Contribute to business development and prepare proposals for mining sector clients.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and designers, ensuring work quality and accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering Geology or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of post-graduate experience in industrial civil projects within the African mining and metals industry.
• Permanent residency or an approved visa to work in South Africa.
• Proficiency in specialized geotechnical software (InRoads, Muk3D, Civil3D, Geostudio, and Plaxis).
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to travel within Africa and the Middle East.

• Pr. Eng designation.
• Experience supporting an Engineer-of-Record (EoR) with knowledge of international tailings guidelines.
• Experience executing large civil earthworks projects in remote areas.
• Fieldwork and site construction experience for mine waste projects.
