What you will do

• Develop and validate a digital twin for the inland waterway transport system using operational data.
• Utilize meso-scale agent-based modelling to assess the efficiency of zero-emission strategies and policies.
• Integrate real-world AIS, hydrodynamic, and infrastructure data to model vessel performance.
• Simulate corridor-scale effects for specific regions including Rotterdam-Basel and Rotterdam-Antwerp.
• Collaborate with scientific and industrial partners to quantify emission reduction impacts.

Requirements

• PhD in Transportation, Logistics, Civil, Mechanical, or Maritime Engineering, or a related field.
• Essential experience with agent-based modelling.
• Proficiency in Python and big data analytics.
• Must be able to relocate to the Netherlands.
• Ability to collaborate with international scientific and industrial stakeholders.
