Senior Staff Software Engineer (Client Architecture)

Location: Remote - United States

Base salary: $279,000–$390,000 USD per year, plus potential equity and, depending on the position, commission.

What you will do

• Define and execute the client architecture strategy for video creation, editing, and uploading within shared post and comment composers.
• Build and scale new contribution formats across web, iOS, and Android experiences.
• Lead the technical direction of the Contribution engineering team and influence the broader Content Ecosystem organization.
• Translate complex product requirements into technical roadmaps and align cross-platform engineering standards.
• Use AI-assisted development tools for prototyping, system design, and coding while validating final outputs.
• Improve client performance through rich-text rendering, edge-optimized media uploads, and offline/online state synchronization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience as a Senior Staff Engineer or Principal Engineer working on consumer-facing web or mobile applications.
• Deep expertise in modern web architecture, including React, TypeScript, and advanced state management.
• Strong command of native mobile development paradigms, including iOS/Swift and Android/Kotlin.
• Experience solving client-side performance and rendering bottlenecks at scale, including rich-text editors, media processing pipelines, or real-time state synchronization.
• Exceptional communication and influence skills, with experience leading large cross-functional initiatives without directly managing engineers.
