Supply Chain Manager (Biotech)

Location: Must be based in Lausanne, Switzerland (On-site)

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end procurement process for all lab inputs, from gene synthesis to consumables.
• De-risk the supply chain by qualifying second sources for critical reagents and materials.
• Negotiate pricing and volume commitments with vendors to drive down the cost of protein production.
• Set and maintain inventory policies, including reorder points and safety stock, to prevent stockouts.
• Manage landed costs, including shipping, customs, import duties, and cold chain logistics.
• Automate ordering, tracking, and reconciliation processes using scripts and API integrations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in supply chain or procurement within a physical, technical business (biotech, CRO, or hardware manufacturing).
• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships.
• Technical proficiency to communicate effectively with scientists and qualify alternative suppliers.
• Ability to automate manual tasks using scripts or API-based tools.
• Obsessive attention to detail regarding lead times, expiry dates, and inventory accuracy.
• Must be able to work on-site in Lausanne, Switzerland.

• Experience with Swiss or EU import/export regulations.
