Product Manager (Observability)

Product Manager (Observability): Owning the product strategy and execution for an open-source database monitoring platform with an accent on technical product leadership and community engagement. Focus on validating ideas, iterating rapidly, and delivering high-value features for SREs, DevOps engineers, and database administrators.

Location: Must be based in the EMEA region (specifically Budapest, Bulgaria, Dublin, Lisbon, Madrid, Rome, Warsaw, or Zagreb).

What you will do

• Own the product strategy and roadmap for the hirify.global Monitoring and Management (PMM) platform.
• Collaborate with customers and the open-source community to validate ideas and identify new opportunities.
• Translate complex technical requirements into clear product priorities for engineering and design teams.
• Define success metrics and utilize product telemetry and usage data to guide decision-making.
• Represent the product internally and externally through webinars, conferences, and community engagement.
• Work cross-functionally to deliver outstanding product experiences from discovery to release.

Requirements

• Proven success managing technical products, specifically in infrastructure, observability, or developer tools.
• Strong technical understanding of databases, cloud-native technologies, and distributed systems.
• Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience shipping successful software products from concept to release.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions with incomplete information.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for customer visits and company events.

Nice to have

• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, or VictoriaMetrics.
• Hands-on experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Background in building AI-powered workflows or developer productivity tools.
• Active participation in open-source communities.
