Data Scientist (Integrated Risk Management)

Data Scientist (Risk Modeling / Fintech): Developing risk models and analytical frameworks for credit, financial, and operational risk with an accent on predicting behavior and optimizing credit portfolio performance. Location: Remote (Worldwide), provided you can maintain overlap with the first half of the business day in Mexico. Relocation support is available to Mexico, Cyprus, Spain, Serbia, or Georgia.

What you will do

• Develop statistical models for credit portfolios to predict behavior and optimize performance at per-account and aggregate levels.
• Create sophisticated Net Present Value (NPV) models and core components for various credit products.
• Model critical financial metrics, including FX positions, liquidity, reserves, and other balance sheet items.
• Analyze and model probabilistic distributions, deviations, and uncertainty in financial and risk data.
• Design diagnostic and forecasting models to identify, monitor, and mitigate organizational risks.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to investigate model performance and improve decision-making processes.

Requirements

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science, Quantitative Analytics, or Risk Modeling.
• Strong proficiency in Python or R and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Statsmodels, and Scikit-learn.
• Deep understanding of statistical modeling, probability theory, and uncertainty quantification.
• Experience modeling distributions and risk metrics rather than solely focusing on point estimates.
• Ability to maintain overlap with the first half of the business day in Mexico.
