TL;DR
Product Engineer (Ruby on Rails/Vue): Building and modernizing a software platform for R&D tax relief claims with an accent on end-to-end feature ownership and systems design. Focus on decomposing complex features into scalable services, integrating AI tooling into the workflow, and evolving the platform architecture from a monolith.
Location: Hybrid (London, UK). UK Work Visa Sponsorship is not available.

What you will do
- Own features end-to-end, from framing problems with Product to release and impact analysis.
- Apply systems design and architectural thinking to modernize the platform and define service boundaries.
- Utilize AI tooling for code generation while maintaining high quality, security, and maintainability.
- Manage testing and quality for all owned features in the absence of a dedicated QA role.
- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure team speed and quality.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails and a modern JS framework (Vue preferred).
- Proficiency with Postgres and cloud infrastructure (AWS & Terraform).
- Proven ability in systems design and decomposing features into bounded services.
- Hands-on experience with AI code tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code).
- Experience in start-up or product-driven environments.
- Must have valid UK work authorization (no sponsorship provided).
Nice to have
- Experience evolving long-lived platforms (service extraction, API design, migrating away from a monolith).
- Experience building AI-powered product features and LLM integrations.
- Exposure to analytics tooling such as BigQuery or dbt.
