TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (.NET): Building and optimizing a next-generation platform for a leading iGaming organization with an accent on scalability, performance, and clean architecture. Focus on designing event-driven messaging systems, optimizing high-load MS SQL databases, and implementing distributed caching.
Location: Hybrid in Malta (3 days in office, 2 days from home)
Salary: €60,000 – €70,000

What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using modern .NET technologies.
- Build and integrate messaging systems and background services for event-driven communication.
- Write and optimize high-performance MS SQL queries, indexes, and database operations.
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical design sessions for product development.
- Drive continuous improvement by adopting new frameworks and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Core, and .NET 8.
- Deep understanding of API design, RESTful services, and distributed systems.
- Experience with MS SQL performance optimization in high-volume environments.
- Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and distributed caching (e.g., Redis).
- Must be based in or able to work from the Malta office under a hybrid model.
Nice to have
- Experience with TypeScript and/or Python.
- Exposure to cloud-native technologies and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
- Previous experience working on large-scale SaaS or platform-based products.
