TL;DR
Senior Algorithm Engineer (AI/Computer Vision): Developing innovative image processing, signal processing, and AI algorithms for wafer inspection and metrology systems with an accent on breakthrough capabilities in defect detection and classification. Focus on driving the complete algorithm lifecycle from mathematical modeling to production deployment and optimizing performance via CPU/GPU acceleration.
Location: Onsite in Hsinchu, Taiwan (includes onsite support at customer fabs like TSMC)

What you will do
- Design, develop, and optimize algorithms for semiconductor inspection and metrology systems.
- Manage the full algorithm lifecycle: modeling, proof-of-concept, software architecture, and validation.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems teams to prototype and deploy new capabilities.
- Investigate and resolve complex production issues within semiconductor fabs, including field support.
- Analyze large-scale production data to enhance algorithm robustness and defect detection performance.
- Contribute to technology roadmaps for future AI-enabled inspection solutions.
Requirements
- Must be based in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
- Strong foundation in image processing, signal processing, computer vision, machine learning, or deep learning.
- Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and/or MATLAB.
- Education/Experience: PhD (0y), Master's (3y), or Bachelor's (5y) in a relevant field.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Nice to have
- CPU optimization experience (SIMD, SSE, AVX).
- GPU programming skills (CUDA).
- Experience with high-performance computing and algorithm acceleration.
