Embedded Software Engineer (Medtech)

TL;DR

Embedded Software Engineer (C/Python): Developing and architecting core software subsystems for the Medido medication management device with an accent on reliability and medical standards. Focus on bare-metal C applications on STM microcontrollers, Python-based testing infrastructure, and optimizing device performance based on telemetry.

Location: Hybrid (Zoetermeer, Netherlands). Requirement to work from the office at least 2 days per week. Valid EU work authorization is mandatory.

What you will do

• Architect and develop complex bare-metal C applications running on STM microcontrollers.
• Maintain and expand Python-based integration testing infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze field data and device telemetry to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Service Product Management to refine technical requirements and feasibility.
• Perform code reviews and mentor junior team members to maintain high code quality.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• Strong proficiency in bare-metal C and Python.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and working with Unit tests.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Must hold valid EU work authorization.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with medical device software standards, such as IEC 62304.
• B1+ proficiency in Dutch.
