Vessel Data Manager (Maritime)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of data analysts, fostering growth and operational excellence.
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Vessel Particulars and Companies business logic and datasets.
• Design, optimize, and maintain ETL processes and integrate new data sources via APIs and web-scraping.
• Develop business logic, create dashboards, and implement automated data validation logic.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams to turn industry knowledge into product value.
• Manage KPIs and OKRs to align data quality and team performance with company objectives.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data management or analytics, including 2+ years of direct people management.
• SME-level knowledge of the maritime industry, including vessel data and shipping operations.
• Advanced, hands-on proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Proven experience with ETL processes, APIs for data ingestion, and web-scraping frameworks.
• Practical familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or Maritime Studies.

Nice to have

• Project management experience.
• Experience with Dataiku or similar data science and workflow automation platforms.
