What you will do

• Lead a high-performing cross-functional agile team of 7-10 experienced software engineers.
• Shape the technical strategy and evolution of the Transport vertical and Payments domain.
• Translate functional specifications into high-performance logical technical designs and code.
• Collaborate with Product, Business, Architecture, and Data Science teams to define module strategies.
• Mentor engineers, manage performance, set goals, and prioritize team capacity.
• Drive the hiring and onboarding process for new technical talent.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in Java, OO design, system design, and data modelling.
• Proven experience with distributed, concurrent, and scalable systems.
• High standards for quality and technical excellence in coding.
• Ability to make fast, data-driven decisions and influence stakeholders.
• Must be based in or able to relocate to Porto, Portugal

Nice to have

• Experience with Applied AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT.
• Experimentation mindset for integrating AI-driven solutions into development workflows.
