Environmental Test Technician (Aerospace)

TL;DR

Environmental Test Technician (Aerospace): Executing and overseeing complex test campaigns for satellite components and systems with an accent on thermal vacuum, vibration, and shock testing. Salary: $32 – $45 per hour

What you will do

• Program and operate test assets including thermal-vacuum, vibration shakers, and mechanical shock simulators.
• Collaborate with engineering on test planning, fixture design, and data analysis for thermal and mechanical testing.
• Deliver calibrated measurements and provide insights to troubleshoot hardware and test discrepancies.
• Maintain test lab equipment, manage consumables, and lead 5S improvement projects.
• Contribute to the layout and organization of the environmental test lab within the first 6 months.
• Support manufacturing tasks as needed within a small, agile team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in environmental testing, preferably within the aerospace industry.
• Proven experience leading thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, and thermal cycling tests for aerospace components.
• Ability to operate autonomously and make real-time decisions during testing operations.
• Proficiency with DAQ systems (NI DAQ, Keysight) and familiarity with MES platforms (e.g., SpaceX Warp Drive).
• Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by ITAR regulations.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks (bending, twisting, standing) for extended periods.

• Experience in a fast-paced production development environment.
• Experience with in-space electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Basic machining or fabrication skills using shop equipment.
