What you will do

• Design and architect scalable backend services and APIs using Python and Django.
• Develop and optimize data storage solutions with PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Implement Elasticsearch for search and analytics across large datasets.
• Architect and operate distributed systems handling high-throughput and low-latency workloads.
• Manage asynchronous task queues and background workers using Celery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US or Canada
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Python and Django development.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining backend systems in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL schema design and query optimization.
• Experience with Redis for caching and message queues.

Nice to have

• Practical use of Elasticsearch for indexing and analytics.
• Proficiency with Docker and containerized deployments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong focus on unit testing with pytest.
• Agile/Scrum team experience.
