What you will do
- Co-author a daily newsletter providing insights and scoops for Houston residents.
- Cover diverse aspects of city life, events, and local folkways.
- Experiment with and integrate AI tools into reporting and production workflows.
- Write in the Smart Brevity style to ensure clarity and impact.
- Contribute to the evolution of the Local product and strategy.
Requirements
- Must be based in the United States
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced news environment and meeting deadlines.
- Strong existing network of sources in Houston or the ability to build them quickly.
- Ability to break news and create conceptual scoops.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and startup mentality.
- Commitment to developing AI literacy and using AI tools daily.
