What you will do
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
- Develop and implement semantic layers, ontologies, and taxonomies to standardize business concepts across domains.
- Build and maintain knowledge graphs to represent entity relationships and enable advanced data discovery.
- Partner with Data Architects and Engineers to ensure models are correctly implemented in AWS Glue and Iceberg tables.
- Define naming conventions and metadata standards while maintaining detailed model documentation.
- Collaborate with Data Quality teams to embed validation rules and ensure system compliance.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data modeling or data architecture roles.
- Strong proficiency in data modeling for Lakehouse or data warehouse environments.
- Expertise in semantic layer design, ontologies, and knowledge graph development.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, Apache Iceberg, and Medallion architecture.
- Knowledge of metadata management and lineage tools (e.g., OpenMetadata).
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities to present technical visions to high-level executives.
Nice to have
- Experience in the financial services domain.
- Proficiency with data modeling tools like ERwin or PowerDesigner.
- Experience with semantic layer tools (e.g., Zaimler, AtScale) or knowledge graph frameworks (e.g., RDF, OWL, Neo4j).
