TL;DR
Senior Hardware Design Engineer (Ethernet Switching): Leading the end-to-end design and development of high-density Ethernet switches for AI and hyper-scale data centers with an accent on high-speed PCB design, signal integrity, and system architecture. Focus on driving complex hardware bring-up, component qualification, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to take products from concept to mass production.

Location: Must be based in Roseville, CA, USA

Compensation: $260,000–$470,000 (inclusive of base salary, bonus, and equity)

What you will do

  • Author functional specifications for high-power, high-density Ethernet switches.
  • Perform schematic capture and collaborate with eCAD teams on PCB layout.
  • Conduct signal integrity simulations for power and datapath signals.
  • Manage the end-to-end hardware design process, including component selection and qualification.
  • Lead lab bring-up, prototype debugging, and system-level troubleshooting.
  • Mentor junior engineers and train contract manufacturers for high-yield production.

Requirements

  • BSEE or MSEE degree required.
  • 10+ years of relevant hardware engineering experience.
  • Proven experience designing networking hardware, specifically 100G and 200G PAM4 Ethernet switching.
  • Expertise in designing 20+ layer boards with 50G+ signals and advanced PCB manufacturing technologies.
  • Strong background in signal integrity, power integrity, and mass production DFM.
  • Experience with FPGA design and system simulation using Verilog.

Nice to have

  • Embedded x86/ARM system design experience.
  • Deep familiarity with high-speed interfaces like DDR and PCIe.
