Lead Estimator (Solar)

Location: Onsite in Avon, MN

Salary: $110,617 - $160,396

What you will do

• Serve as a subject matter expert and lead the estimating team through all phases of procurement and bidding.
• Coordinate complex bid efforts, ensuring accuracy, technical compliance, and alignment across disciplines.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members while setting performance standards.
• Champion process improvements and new initiatives within the estimating discipline.
• Support negotiations and participate in client presentations to secure new work.
• Identify and calculate project safety requirements and risks into bids.

Requirements

• Must have 8+ years of progressive estimating and preconstruction experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Must have 4+ years of construction or engineering education or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
• Advanced knowledge of construction markets, estimating strategies, cost control, and scheduling.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, and contracts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High proficiency in computer estimating software (HCSS Heavy Bid preferred).
