Senior Software Engineer (Billing)

Nebius (Tavily team) is building the infrastructure layer for agentic web interaction to power Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and real-time reasoning in AI systems.

What you will do

• Design and operate the end-to-end billing platform from usage events to invoices.
• Build high-volume metering and usage-aggregation pipelines that convert events into billable amounts.
• Develop prepaid credit/wallet systems with auto top-up and balance management.
• Support enterprise billing featuring custom pricing, negotiated terms, and scheduled invoicing.
• Implement reconciliation, idempotency, and invoice-accuracy safeguards to ensure revenue data correctness.
• Lead the migration to a next-generation billing system with zero revenue loss or downtime.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building production backend systems, with 3+ years specifically in billing or metering systems.
• Strong expertise in Python and TypeScript/Node (Go is a plus).
• Experience with transactional databases (Postgres) and high-volume pipelines (Kafka/Kinesis to Snowflake/BigQuery).
• Hands-on integration of third-party billing platforms such as Stripe Billing, Metronome, Orb, or Zuora.
• Experience with Product-Led Growth (PLG) billing for high-volume self-serve users.
• Must be authorized to work in the US and based in New York City for hybrid collaboration.

• Experience leading a billing system migration with zero downtime.
• Experience building hybrid billing combining usage, subscriptions, and prepaid models.
• Experience billing developer-facing API products with pay-as-you-go metering.
• Proficiency in using Snowflake for usage aggregation and revenue analytics.
