Senior Software Engineer (C++)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (C++/Browser Engine): Modifying and extending Chromium/WebKit to unlock new capabilities for research and large-scale data collection with an accent on browser internals and systems programming. Focus on building, debugging, and reverse-engineering browser engines and protocols to ship high-quality research tools.

Location: Fully remote (for candidates who are not from Israel)

What you will do

• Modify and extend Chromium/WebKit source code for research and data extraction use cases.
• Build, debug, and reverse-engineer browser engines, internals, and protocols including CDP, DevTools, and the networking stack.
• Manage a Chromium fork, including customizing, patching, rebasing, and merging upstream changes.
• Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and product teams to rapidly prototype and ship high-quality changes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with C++ (C++17/20) in large-scale, cross-platform systems.
• Deep knowledge of web protocols and browser internals: HTTP/2/3, TLS, CDP, DOM, and JavaScript engines.
• Proficiency with build tools such as depot_tools, GN, Ninja, and Siso.
• Experience with multi-process models, Blink/V8, sandboxing, and Crashpad.
• Ability to perform crash dump triage using Visual Studio, WinDbg, ETW/xperf, or ProcMon.

Nice to have

• Experience with security research, reverse engineering, or browser automation.
• Open-source contributions related to browser engines or devtools.
• Knowledge of Linux containers (Docker, containerd, LXC) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Basic proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript.
