What you will do

• Design and optimize robust backend services to handle high-volume traffic with total data consistency.
• Evolve distributed architectures into scalable, event-driven systems to meet global requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive unit, integration, acceptance, and load performance simulations.
• Monitor production service health and resolve bottlenecks using observability tools like Sentry and Datadog.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and documenting standards.
• Integrate AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) to optimize development cycles.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing production-grade applications.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, including race conditions, eventual consistency, and message brokers.
• Strong proficiency in the Node.js ecosystem (TypeScript, NestJS).
• Fluency in both Spanish and English is required.
• Must be based in Madrid.

Nice to have

• Experience with banking systems, ledger systems, or reconciliation processes.
• Familiarity with payment gateways such as Stripe or Adyen.
