Senior Android Engineer (Android)

Location: Hybrid in Sydney, Australia (must be based in Sydney)

What you will do

• Build and maintain Android-specific development tooling, including simulator setup and CLI tools.
• Develop and enhance the mobile test automation framework for synthetic and integration testing.
• Design and implement CI/CD quality gating to proactively detect regressions.
• Collaborate with Native Infra, Cross Platform, and DevX teams to unify mobile workflows.
• Define and codify mobile testing best practices across the organization.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead knowledge sharing across mobile teams.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in modern Android development with deep knowledge of Kotlin, concurrency, and reactive programming.
• Experience with CI/CD systems, build pipelines, and tooling such as Fastlane and Gradle.
• Strong foundations in computer science and software engineering practices.
• Ability to design reusable and testable code and navigate technical ambiguity.
• Experience with cross-platform testing frameworks and automation patterns.

Nice to have

• Experience with device farm solutions like BrowserStack.
• Familiarity with hybrid development approaches (React Native, web-to-native bridges).
