What you will do
- Craft compelling content including news articles, features, web copy, and press releases.
- Partner with scientists and communications leads to ensure accuracy and alignment with NASA priorities.
- Edit and review content for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to style guidelines.
- Support real-time media needs by preparing talking points and rapid-turn statements.
- Develop thematic storytelling that connects research to NASA's broader mission.
- Track engagement metrics to optimize content effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in science writing, journalism, or communications.
- Proven ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, engaging stories.
- Strong collaboration skills for working across diverse teams.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States as this is an onsite role at NASA Headquarters.
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of AP Style.
- Experience with rapid response writing and executive communications.
