What you will do

• Craft compelling content including news articles, features, web copy, and press releases.
• Partner with scientists and communications leads to ensure accuracy and alignment with NASA priorities.
• Edit and review content for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to style guidelines.
• Support real-time media needs by preparing talking points and rapid-turn statements.
• Develop thematic storytelling that connects research to NASA's broader mission.
• Track engagement metrics to optimize content effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in science writing, journalism, or communications.
• Proven ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, engaging stories.
• Strong collaboration skills for working across diverse teams.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States as this is an onsite role at NASA Headquarters.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of AP Style.
• Experience with rapid response writing and executive communications.
• Experience with webpage development.
