What you will do

• Drive the technical direction of the data platform, leading architecture decisions and delivery sequencing.
• Support and mentor a team of 4–5 engineers to build a product-minded engineering culture.
• Own and evolve the data infrastructure, including data lakes, semantic layers, and data governance.
• Lead the adoption of streaming technologies (Kafka) across the team.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design stakeholders to align technical decisions with roadmaps.
• Drive the shift toward distributed data ownership and a self-service data platform model.

Requirements

• Proven experience at Staff Engineer level or equivalent within a data engineering context.
• Strong architectural understanding of data lakes, foundations, governance, and orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with streaming technologies, specifically Kafka.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with a modern data stack.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to negotiate roadmaps.
• Leadership experience in guiding engineers and driving technical delivery.

Nice to have

• Experience with data governance for AI agents, including access control and safety.
• Exposure to self-service data platform models and distributed data ownership strategies.
• Prior experience working in a product-led SaaS environment.
