Protection and Rule of Law Case Management Officer (Humanitarian)

Protection and Rule of Law Case Management Officer (Humanitarian): Supporting partner organizations in implementing quality protection case management services with an accent on mentoring, capacity building, and quality assurance. Focus on modeling best practices in risk-based case management and progressively transferring responsibilities to partner caseworkers in Donetsk and Kharkiv oblasts.

Location: Based in Kharkiv, Ukraine with regular travel to partner organizations, including potential travel to Donetsk oblast.

What you will do

• Manage protection cases (intake, risk assessment, safety planning) and model best practices for partner caseworkers.
• Provide mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance to partner staff through a structured shadowing model.
• Conduct bi-weekly case file reviews and provide feedback to ensure quality and adherence to international standards.
• Monitor compliance with safeguarding, "Do No Harm" principles, and internal SOPs.
• Coordinate with technical staff to update service mapping and referral pathways.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on partner progress and quality assurance outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Law, Human Rights, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Protection Case Management.
• Experience in technical supervision, mentoring, or coaching caseworkers.
• Required experience working in humanitarian settings.
• Fluency in Ukrainian (written and spoken).
• Ability to travel regularly to field locations in Kharkiv and Donetsk oblasts.

Nice to have

• Experience working with local NGOs or community-based organizations.
• Experience in hard-to-reach, frontline, or high-risk operational contexts.
• Knowledge of English.
