Engineering Manager (GKE)

What you will do

• Lead cloud configuration and ensure the uptime and reliability of the GKE environment.
• Translate security and certificate requirements into technical tickets while shielding the team from distractions.
• Perform hands-on technical work, including PR reviews, debugging cluster issues, and writing automation scripts.
• Guide and audit outsourced DevOps and DevSec vendors to ensure alignment with internal needs.
• Manage people growth through regular 1-on-1s and fostering a learning culture.
• Prioritize technical initiatives to maximize ROI and business value.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience with a background in software development (Python, TypeScript).
• Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), GKE, and Google Workspace.
• Proficiency in Terraform and automating Compliance as Code.
• Experience with ISO 27001 frameworks and cloud security posture management.
• Fluency in English.

Nice to have

• Understanding of FinOps and cost optimization.
• Experience with EU hosting requirements.
• Active participation in Finnish DevOps or Security communities.
• Fluency in Finnish.
