Salary: $146,000 — $177,000 (Alternative ranges may apply for specific US hubs like NY, SF, or Seattle)

What you will do

• Provide technical expertise for strategic pre-sales opportunities and onboard new customers to dbt Cloud.
• Execute adoption plays including migrations, new feature implementations (Semantic Layer, Mesh), and major version upgrades.
• Advise on architecture, design, and troubleshooting while building solution MVPs tailored to customer needs.
• Lead reactive adoption initiatives to de-risk churn and position accounts for future expansion.
• Collaborate with CSAs, Sales, and Product teams to prioritize technical needs and improve customer experience.
• Manage multiple simultaneous projects with clear scoping and outcome tracking.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 5+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles (post-sales consulting, technical architecture, or solution delivery).
• Expertise with at least one modern cloud data platform: Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Hands-on experience with dbt Cloud, including at least 1 year of active work with dbt.
• Strong proficiency in SQL; working knowledge of Python for analytics.
• Ability to lead technical project delivery and manage stakeholder expectations across multiple engagements.

Nice to have

• dbt Analytics Engineering Certification.
• Experience with traditional enterprise ETL tools like Informatica, Datastage, or Talend.
• Proven success in accelerating usage and expansion within large, complex enterprise accounts.
• Experience influencing technical direction and building consensus across teams.
