Compensation: $4,463.88 - $5,310.28 CAD Monthly

What you will do
- Coordinate the receipt, processing, storage, and inventory tracking of biological specimens.
- Maintain laboratory logs, equipment upkeep, reagent preparation, and supply purchasing.
- Support project coordination by scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and tracking deliverables.
- Assist with conducting experiments, assays, and data collection/analysis.
- Prepare and maintain SOPs, ethics documentation, and research manuscripts.
- Provide guidance and training to research assistants and students on laboratory protocols.
Requirements
- High school graduation plus two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to work onsite at the BC Children Hospital Research Institute in Vancouver.
- Familiarity with biosafety practices and safe handling of biological specimens and chemicals.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple research projects and timelines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with investigators and collaborators.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in a research environment.
Nice to have
- Training in life sciences, public health, or related discipline.
- Experience with biobanking, chain-of-custody documentation, or LIMS.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as PCR, cell culture, or ELISA.
- Experience with research software like REDCap or data management tools.
