Senior Product Security Engineer (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco or Sydney

Salary: $160,000–$250,000 base pay annually, plus potential equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Analyse applications, software, and services with engineering and infrastructure teams to drive security improvements.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain security controls and cybersecurity infrastructure.
• Perform incident response, threat hunting, and investigations across endpoint, network, authentication, firewall, and cloud data sources.
• Design custom detection strategies and workflows supporting the incident response lifecycle.
• Assess systems and networks for configuration deviations and vulnerabilities, and support mitigation and remediation.
• Conduct tactical forensic analysis and collect, examine, and preserve digital forensic evidence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security engineering or incident response within a technology company.
• In-depth experience with at least one major cloud platform.
• Strong knowledge of software development infrastructure, including CI/CD tooling and pipelines.
• Comprehensive understanding of attacker tools and techniques, including detection, prevention, and high-quality incident investigation.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical security and software concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivation and the ability to learn new skills and solve complex challenges in high-growth environments.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Cybersecurity certifications such as OSCP, GIAC, or CEH.
• Experience with Splunk, Kubernetes, GCP, Alibaba Cloud, Okta, GSuite, or cloud-based VPN services.
• Experience with Python, Java, or Kotlin.
• Published cybersecurity articles, journals, or blogs.
