TL;DR
Senior Data Protection Coordinator (GDPR): Coordinating day-to-day data protection services for ING Group entities with an accent on GDPR implementation, privacy assessments, AI Act compliance, and enterprise data protection risk management. Focus on designing scalable compliance processes, assessing AI use cases, advising international stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement across global and local teams.

Location: Bucharest - Dacia One, Romania

What you will do

  • Coordinate day-to-day data protection services for entities across the ING Group.
  • Lead the design and implementation of GDPR and other data protection processes, tooling, policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Support international clients with personal data mapping, DPIA, LIA and TIA assessments, breach management, data subject rights, third-party contracting, privacy by design, and storage limitation.
  • Manage AI Act compliance activities, including AI use-case inventories, classification, and fundamental rights impact assessments.
  • Lead service innovation, process improvement, automation, client expansion, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare metrics and reports, deliver awareness training, and support testing, quality assurance, and audit activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and approximately 5 years of experience in data protection-related control, audit, consultancy, compliance, or legal services, preferably in banking or IT.
  • Knowledge of national and European data protection laws, business processes, processing operations, technologies, and data security.
  • Understanding of the banking environment, governance structures, products, services, and operational flows.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop structured working processes and operate independently across complex international environments.
  • Advanced written and spoken English required. Experienced use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data ethics.
  • Legal background or data protection qualifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or AI GP.
