Senior Physical Security Specialist (f/m/d) (Physical Security): Developing and coordinating a group-wide, risk-based physical security framework for critical infrastructure, facilities, people, and operating processes with an accent on asset protection, site security concepts, and risk mitigation. Focus on assessing threats, standardizing on-site security operations, coordinating executive and event protection, and improving incident response across energy infrastructure.
Location: Hybrid role based in Essen or Hannover, Germany. Work from home is combined with office collaboration; workation is available for up to 20 days per year within Europe.

What you will do
- Develop and drive a group-wide, risk-based physical security framework, including policies, standards, and asset protection methodologies.
- Implement and continuously improve site security concepts across business segments and locations.
- Conduct risk and threat assessments covering sabotage, vandalism, espionage, and unauthorized access, and define mitigation measures.
- Manage security-services tendering and procurement while ensuring quality and cost efficiency.
- Advise on security requirements for new sites, buildings, and leases, including technical and personnel security solutions.
- Standardize on-site security operations and support executive, high-profile event, and incident-response activities.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience in physical security within a corporate or complex operational environment.
- Strong expertise in physical security technologies, systems, frameworks, and relevant standards such as ISO 27001.
- Solid understanding of IT and OT environments, including grid and energy infrastructure, operations, and design.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, strategic mindset, business acumen, and confident decision-making under pressure.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills with a collaborative, cross-functional approach.
- Fluency in English and German, written and spoken, is required; a valid Class B driver's license is required.

- Professional certification such as CPP, PSP, or CPO.
