Physical Security Specialist (f/m/d)

Location: Hybrid work in Essen or Hannover, Germany; office collaboration is combined with focused work from home. Workation is possible for up to 20 days per year within Europe.

What you will do

• Develop and continuously improve a group-wide, risk-based physical security framework, including policies, standards, and asset protection methodologies.
• Implement and improve site security concepts across business segments and locations.
• Conduct risk and threat assessments covering sabotage, vandalism, espionage, and unauthorized access, and define mitigation measures.
• Manage and support tendering and procurement of security services while ensuring quality and cost awareness.
• Define security requirements for new sites, buildings, and leases, including technical and personnel security solutions.
• Coordinate on-site security operations, executive and high-profile event security, executive protection activities, and incident response.

Requirements

• Several years of professional experience in physical security within a corporate or complex operational environment.
• Expertise in physical security technologies, systems, frameworks, and relevant standards such as ISO 27001.
• Understanding of IT and OT environments, including grid and energy infrastructure, operations, and design.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English and German, written and spoken.
• Valid Class B driver's license.

Nice to have

• Professional certification such as CPP, PSP, or CPO.
