Compensation: $6,949.92 - $9,992.50 CAD Monthly

What you will do
- Lead bioinformatics data analysis projects and architect data management and database solutions.
- Design and implement efficient end-to-end systems for housing, analyzing, and disseminating genomic data.
- Monitor system performance, resolve technical issues, and streamline workflows for the Sequencing and Bioinformatics Consortium.
- Develop and enforce quality control processes, including inspection and testing of laboratory outcomes.
- Conduct statistical analysis of DNA/RNA sequencing data using custom scripts and software tools.
- Collaborate with researchers, technical groups, and stakeholders to ensure system compatibility and project success.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline with at least three years of related experience.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are critical for stakeholder interaction.
- Proficiency in Linux/UNIX environments and scripting languages such as Python, R, or Bash.
- Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) or Linux cluster environments.
- Familiarity with Git version control and bioinformatics tools for sequence analysis.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under pressure.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with cloud computing (AWS, Google Cloud) and RDBMS (MySQL, Oracle).
- Knowledge of C/C++ or Java.
- Experience with continuous integration systems like Jenkins or OpenShift.
- Domain-specific knowledge in human genetics, microbial ecology, or immunology.
