Salary: $6,949.92 - $9,992.50 CAD Monthly

The Food and Beverage Innovation Centre (FBIC) at the University of British Columbia is an interdisciplinary hub focused on cutting-edge R&D for the food and beverage industry.

What you will do

  • Oversee research activities, including design, execution, data collection, and final reporting.
  • Develop and implement applied research methodologies to investigate food products, ingredients, and processing approaches.
  • Explore opportunities for intellectual property development, patent applications, and technology transfer.
  • Interpret research results to identify commercial applications and innovation trends.
  • Supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students involved in research projects.
  • Lead the negotiation of research contracts and collaborative projects with industry partners.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to work onsite at the hirify.global Vancouver Campus.
  • Commitment to enhancing awareness and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Nice to have

  • Specialization in Food Science, Food Chemistry, Food Engineering, or Food Analysis.
  • Strong background in food formulation development and material characterization.
  • Proficiency in designing experiments and analyzing complex data sets.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office and statistical software.
