What you will do

• Design and maintain production-ready backend services and APIs to expose data and algorithms to internal users.
• Collaborate with scientists and data engineers to translate domain problems into robust software solutions.
• Build and optimize large-scale batch compute jobs for numerically intensive scientific workloads.
• Develop platforms for integrating algorithms, digital twins, and AI tools into breeding pipelines.
• Advance engineering practices as the team scales its AI capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with compiled languages such as C++ or Rust.
• Experience with Linux, Docker, and AWS cloud services.
• Proven track record with large-scale batch computing and scientific libraries.
• Must have valid US work authorization (no visa sponsorship provided).

Nice to have

• Full-stack development experience.
• Experience with Terraform.
• Familiarity with LLM integration and RAG pipelines.
• Background in genetics, agriculture, or scientific computing.
