What you will do
- Define the strategy, architecture, development, and operation of the data and AI platforms.
- Identify and solve company-wide challenges through scalable data platform solutions.
- Provide technical direction and lead hands-on resolution of complex architecture and engineering problems.
- Drive best practices, craftsmanship, innovation, and technical excellence across the data platform.
- Mentor data platform engineers and support their technical and professional development.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in data platforms or an equivalent combination of work and academic experience in a quantitative field.
- Experience leading company-wide initiatives across multiple teams or influencing technology roadmaps.
- Experience with ETL frameworks, metrics stores, infrastructure management, data security, and scalable data platform design.
- Experience building, deploying, and maintaining reliable multi-geographical data pipelines at scale.
- Experience with workflow or orchestration frameworks such as Airflow or dbt.
- Strong collaboration, communication, research, statistical understanding, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience designing data processing patterns for modern lakehouse architectures.
- Experience with GCP, Databricks, BigQuery, DataProc, Kafka, Kubernetes, Spark, DataFlow, Google Cloud Storage, and Airflow.
- Experience developing high-performance services, standard framework modules, and client libraries for big data.
- Experience evaluating technologies and conducting proof of concepts for architecture decisions.
