TL;DR

Focus on coordinating DERs and FAA interactions, executing conformity inspections and certification tests, and ensuring compliance across electrical, mechanical, propulsion, and structural systems.
Location: Remote
Salary: $199,000–$248,800 base pay annually

What you will do
- Guide certification activities throughout the aircraft type-certification program.
- Coordinate certification work across engineering teams and establish FAA compliance strategies.
- Develop, author, review, and execute certification plans.
- Act as a liaison between engineering teams, FAA Designated Engineering Representatives, and regulatory authorities.
- Plan and support development and certification test campaigns, including conformity inspections, DER witnessing, and test documentation.
- Review designs and certification documentation to ensure compliance with airworthiness standards and support integrated aircraft-level planning.
Requirements
- BS or MS in engineering or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of aircraft certification experience in civil or military aviation.
- Experience with Part 23, 8110.4C, AC 20-107, AC 23-19, and other applicable FAA regulations and guidance.
- Experience developing and executing certification plans and communicating directly with the FAA.
- FAA DER experience, ODA experience, and experience with FAA conformity activities.
- Experience certifying electrical, mechanical, propulsion, or structural systems, as well as obtaining TSO approvals.
Nice to have
- Experience developing eVTOL, powered-lift, or other special-class aircraft.
- Experience with the Issue Paper process.
