Principal Certification Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $200,000 - $310,000

Aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to advance sustainable air mobility.

What you will do

• Coordinate and support certification activities for assigned engineering teams.
• Establish compliance strategies and methods of compliance according to FAA regulations.
• Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs).
• Lead the authoring, review, and execution of certification plans.
• Support the planning and execution of certification test campaigns, including conformity inspections.
• Collaborate with the certification team to develop integrated aircraft-level planning.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Engineering or a related degree.
• 15+ years of experience in civil or military aircraft certification.
• Deep knowledge of Part 23, 8110.4c, AC 20-107, AC 23-19 and other FAA guidance materials.
• Experience as an FAA DER and working with ODA’s.
• Proven experience with FAA Conformity and TSO approvals.
• Must have valid US work authorization (no visa sponsorship provided).

Nice to have

• Experience with eVTOL, powered-lift, or other special class aircraft development.
• Experience with the Issue Paper process.
