Location: Must be based in or able to work from Austin, TX or Santa Clara, CA (Hybrid)

Compensation: $100,000 – $500,000

What you will do

• Develop and maintain performance models for next-generation RISC-V CPU cores.
• Analyze architectural tradeoffs in instruction scheduling, branch prediction, and memory hierarchy.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to influence architectural decisions based on performance data.
• Utilize simulation tools to evaluate real-world performance across AI and HPC workloads.
• Contribute to the development of high-performance compute platforms from the ground up.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to access U.S. export-controlled technology (U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status may be required).
• 1-5 years of industry or research experience in CPU architecture or microarchitecture development.
• Strong programming skills in C++ or Python for architectural modeling.
• Experience with performance modeling tools such as Gem5, SST, or SimpleScalar.
• Solid understanding of modern processor pipelines, caches, and execution subsystems.
• PhD preferred (MS considered) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
