Sr. Performance Modeling Architect (AI)

Location: Hybrid, based in Santa Clara, California, or Austin, Texas, United States

Compensation: $100,000–$500,000 per year, including base and variable compensation targets.

What you will do

• Build performance models for next-generation high-performance RISC-V CPUs.
• Analyze CPU core, mid-core, and microarchitecture performance.
• Use simulation environments such as Gem5, SST, SimpleScalar, or equivalent tools.
• Apply workload analysis to guide architectural decisions for AI and HPC systems.
• Collaborate on hardware-software co-design with CPU architects and systems specialists.

Requirements

• 1–5 years of industry or equivalent research experience in CPU architecture, performance analysis, or microarchitecture development.
• Experience with CPU core, mid-core, or microarchitecture development.
• Strong programming skills in C++, Python, or similar languages.
• Understanding of instruction scheduling, branch prediction, caches, memory hierarchy, prefetching, and execution pipelines.
• PhD preferred, with an MS considered, in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology is required; employment may depend on citizenship, permanent residency, or export-license approval.
