Associate, Cost Monitoring (Construction Cost Consulting): Leading cost monitoring and consulting services across construction and commercial real estate projects with an accent on estimating, project monitoring, client delivery, and team leadership. Focus on analyzing cost plans, change orders, tender comparisons, and construction methodologies while developing client relationships and guiding consultants.
Location: Hybrid role based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with additional availability in Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Salary: CAD 95,000–125,000 per year base pay, excluding bonuses, equity, benefits, and other incentives.

What you will do
- Lead cost consulting and project monitoring services for new and existing clients across residential, ICI, civil, and commercial real estate projects.
- Guide consultants in construction estimation, drawing reviews, project descriptions, assumptions, trade take-offs, and cost planning.
- Analyze general conditions, change orders, pricing structures, and comparative or tender analyses.
- Coordinate estimates using CAD, Excel, CostX, BIM, Digitizer, and PowerPoint.
- Manage client delivery, revenue management, business development, and opportunities for service expansion.
- Coach, mentor, and support direct reports while implementing approved business plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional Quantity Surveyor certification, RICS membership, or PMP certification is required.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in commercial real estate or a related field.
- Deep understanding of cost planning, project monitoring, real estate consulting, and advisory services.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical ability, business acumen, client service orientation, and business development focus.
- Advanced blueprint reading, construction methodology, trade and product knowledge, and experience with relevant estimating software.
