TL;DR

Location: Remote (Must be based in the US; team primarily based in Chicago)

What you will do
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend systems, APIs, and high-quality software solutions.
- Build and optimize web applications using modern frontend technologies.
- Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS GovCloud, CI/CD pipelines, and automate deployment processes.
- Integrate generative artificial intelligence and machine learning to extract insights from complex datasets.
- Ensure all systems are secure and compliant with strict regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA.
- Collaborate with data scientists and external leadership to align technical roadmaps with strategic goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a similar field.
- 2+ years of professional experience as a full-stack software engineer or technical lead.
- Proficiency with Next.js, React, Node.js, Python (FastAPI), and Go.
- Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
- Must be eligible for US-based employment (indicated by 401k, HSA, and US health insurance benefits).

- Experience leading and inspiring engineering teams in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Background in GIS development.
- Proven record of aligning external stakeholder needs with high-quality deliverables.
