What you will do

• Manage day-to-day operations and operational leadership of the FINDER CL3 and CL2 shared research platforms.
• Oversee biosafety procedures, annual facility certification testing, and security protocols.
• Supervise, mentor, and perform performance management for up to four technical staff members.
• Collaborate on grant proposals and research reports, providing technical expertise in pathogens and animal research.
• Plan and manage the operational budget and negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.
• Develop and implement training programs for users to safely operate within the high-containment facility.

Requirements

• Must be willing and able to work under CL3 conditions, including enrolment in medical surveillance.
• Post-graduate degree with 4+ years of related experience, or an undergraduate degree with 6+ years of related experience.
• Proven experience working in and managing a CL3 facility, including staff oversight and facility operations.
• Strong knowledge of biosafety principles and animal husbandry.
• Proficiency in microbiology, tissue culture, and operation of complex scientific analytical instrumentation.
• Must be based in or be able to work onsite at the Vancouver Campus.

Nice to have

• Undergraduate degree in Microbiology, Virology, or a related biomedical field.
• Experience with small animal models of microbial infection.
• Completion of the hirify.global CL3 facility training program.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing and analyzing DNA, RNA, and protein samples.
