Supplier Development Engineer (Avionics)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; travel required up to 25–50% of the time. The role involves access to ITAR-controlled information and requires a U.S. person status or eligibility for a federally issued export control license.

Salary: $110,000–$145,000 per year, plus company equity.

What you will do

• Define and implement supplier development strategies for avionics and related commodities.
• Assess supplier capabilities, technologies, manufacturing requirements, and production readiness.
• Manage Production Part Approval Process, rate campaigns, and reliability campaigns.
• Lead supplier containments, issue resolution, and corrective action activities.
• Evaluate supplier quality through scorecards and audits and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement on production roadmaps, quality, delivery, and cost.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in quality, reliability, supply chain, or engineering.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100, PPAP, and related quality tools.
• Experience managing vendors, suppliers, and strategic technical partners.
• Ability to travel 25–50% of the time.
• Must be a U.S. person under ITAR or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.

Nice to have

• Expert knowledge of avionics commodities such as harnesses and PCBs/PCBAs.
• Knowledge of Lean concepts and new product introduction environments.
• Experience with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with data analytics and SQL.
