What you will do

• Own backend services end-to-end, including architecture, REST APIs, and PostgreSQL database design.
• Build and debug asynchronous and concurrent systems using asyncio and Celery for event-driven flows.
• Integrate third-party APIs with a focus on cost control, rate-limiting, and idempotency.
• Profile and optimize slow endpoints and database queries to ensure stability under heavy load.
• Mentor junior and middle engineers on architecture, patterns, and production readiness.
• Manage observability tooling, dashboards, and participate in the backend on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional backend experience (10+ preferred) in product-driven environments.
• Proficiency in Python with strong expertise in Django and/or FastAPI.
• Expertise in concurrent Python (asyncio) and distributed task queues (Celery).
• Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL) and experience with message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Advanced English proficiency for confident verbal and written communication.
• Comfortable working in a 100% distributed team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, NoSQL databases, and cloud-native patterns.
• Exposure to Java, Spring, or other OOP languages.
• Experience with LLM APIs, RAG systems, or other AI integrations.
• Proven track record of infrastructure or external API cost optimization.
