What you will do

• Design and run white-box, systems-first automated tests for backend APIs, payments, billing, and search services.
• Own performance testing capabilities including load, stress, and soak testing to define and maintain SLA thresholds.
• Build and maintain synthetic monitoring in Datadog and Grafana to ensure always-on coverage of critical production behavior.
• Partner with backend engineers to close testability gaps and validate system state using SQL.
• Drive the adoption of AI tooling and agentic approaches across the QE chapter to improve test planning and triage.
• Lead tech-sharing sessions and mentor engineers to raise the standard of quality engineering across the company.

Requirements

• 7+ years in SDET or Quality Engineering with a substantial backend focus.
• Must be based in Spain.
• Strong experience with API testing at integration and contract levels.
• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools like K6, JMeter, or Locust.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Python for scripting and code review.
• Strong SQL skills for data validation and investigation.
• Practical experience applying AI and LLMs to testing workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience building with MCP servers and agentic test workflows.
• Background in payments, billing, or search systems (Elasticsearch).
• Experience with consumer-driven contract testing or service virtualization.
• Broader backend language exposure such as PHP.
