TL;DR
Quantitative Model Risk Officer (Finance): Validating and monitoring complex financial and risk models with an accent on conceptual soundness, data integrity, performance, and governance. Focus on designing reusable validation tools, applying back-testing and stress testing, and preparing documentation for regulatory and senior leadership review.

Location: Remote within Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, or Florida; travel up to 10%.

Salary: $117,249–$154,493 annual base salary, based on experience, plus annual incentive potential.

What you will do

  • Perform full-scope validations and periodic reviews of financial and risk models.
  • Assess conceptual soundness, data integrity, performance, assumptions, and governance.
  • Design model test plans and develop reusable code and analytical tools.
  • Monitor model performance and collaborate with business units and stakeholders.
  • Support model inventory, risk rating, lifecycle governance, and implementation standards.
  • Prepare validation reports, presentations, documentation, and progress tracking for senior leadership and regulatory review.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or another quantitative discipline required; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • At least 6 years of bank credit experience in model risk management, model development, or quantitative finance required.
  • Advanced statistical and quantitative analysis skills.
  • Experience with back-testing, sensitivity analysis, stress testing, and benchmarking.
  • Knowledge of model risk management frameworks, regulatory guidance, and lifecycle governance standards.
  • Proficiency with Excel, R, SAS, and SQL, plus the ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
