What you will do

• Design and iterate on machine learning models impacting in-game experiences like matchmaking and skill rating systems.
• Formulate ambiguous product problems into well-defined machine learning tasks with clear targets and evaluation strategies.
• Build representation learning models to capture player skill, lineup strength, and interaction patterns from sequential data.
• Collaborate with engineers and product stakeholders to integrate models into production systems.
• Influence game design decisions through data-driven insights and algorithmic solutions.

Requirements

• PhD in a quantitative field or Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven experience with deep learning, representation learning, or self-supervised learning.
• Fluency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark.
• Working knowledge of machine learning frameworks like PyTorch or Tensorflow.
• Ability to work independently and prototype solutions rapidly.

Nice to have

• Experience with recommendation or ranking systems.
• Familiarity with sequence models like Transformers or RNNs.
• Experience with cloud services like AWS and model orchestration.
• Interest in sports analytics or NBA domain knowledge.
